Kata Markon (“according to Mark” in Greek) continues the tradition established by J. S. Bach and others in setting to music the Passion narrative of the Gospels. In addition to the use of vocal soloists, chorus, organ, and instrumental ensemble, this setting of Chapters 14 & 15 in the gospel of Mark also blends influences of sacred Jewish and Middle Eastern music.
